A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
What a remarkable season. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. We witnessed lots of exciting roller hockey down at BMRH. The competition and skill levels continue to rise as each and every player progresses from start to finish, and that’s what it’s all about, the development of our young hockey players. There is so much to be excited about with the future of this great sport.
I’d first like to thank my team, The Board of Directors, for all their time, help and support in making this league run. This would not at all be possible, without each and every one of you. We have come together as one and continue to make significant improvements to the structure of our Youth Organization.
This season, we had 6 Overtime Games across the board. In our Freshman Division, 3 points separated our 1st place and 3rd place teams. In the Sophomore Division, 4 points separated 1st place to 4th place. Talk about giving your very best, the 4th place team won 6 out of 10 games, and they didn't even have a goalie! I'll touch more on that a little later. In the end, the 5th Seed knocked off the #1 Seed, only to fall short, to the 3rd Seed, in the Championship! The Junior Division was also a tight race of a 4-point differential between 1st and 2nd place.
Prior to the start of the Spring ’22 Season, we launched our brand-new website, which is also known as the “Stat Era”. My fellow alumni and I, always talk about how we wish stats were kept when we were younger and, playing down at BMRH. Since the launch, we have been documenting all team and player statistics across the league. This past Fall Season, we had some record breakers so I wanted to call them out, please see below:
Freshman Division
Goaltender Daniel Godek finished with 7 wins and also holds the best Goals Against Avg. with a 4.33. He also earned the 1st Playoff Shutout in the Division.
Sophomore Division
Matthew Vlahakis crushed every single offensive record as he scored 61 goals, added 17 assists and totaled 78 points this season. Sean Hoefenkrieg was the first Sophomore Goaltender to post a shutout during the regular season. Goaltender, Dominick Safuto, earned a 4th Playoff Win, which ultimately sealed the deal in the Championship Series.
Junior Division
Nico Buglione broke the season goal record by recording 30 this Fall. Let me also point out, he only played in 6 games. He also leads in the points per game average with a 6.0. It didn’t end there, Nico recorded 17 goals, and 18 points in the Playoffs and is now the BMRH Leader for both playoff goals and points.
Like I said, what a remarkable season. However, finding full-time Goaltenders is still a concern. For some teams, I know it was a difficult year but I can ensure you, we are doing our very best to find more full-time Goalies. I wanted to personally thank the group below, who signed up to skate out, but took one, or two, for their team, when needed. You put on the pads so we can have a game. You put on the pads so we can have a league. You all have showed that you're a great team player and we appreciate you giving the position a try. Thank you:

To our Partners, we cannot thank you enough for your support. To all those, who attended our Bar Night Fundraiser, thank you for making us, make the League better. I'm asking for your honest feedback regarding our Youth Organization. The data will allow us to grow and continue on the right path to making BMRH a special place for our young roller hockey players.
I wish you, and all your family, a wonderful Holiday Season.
Onward!
