WEEK 1 RECAP

Each week, we will be posting game recaps to share some of the news around the league and highlight some of our key performances. See our recap of week 1, below:

Kraken 7  Coyotes 3

Paul Pedota led the way for the Kraken scoring 2 goals while Aiden Masten netted 1 and had an assist. Nick Zummo had two key assists in the 2nd half which led to the Kraken's victory in game 1. For the Yotes, Dylan Cochrane was involved in all 3 of the teams tallies as he scored 2 goals and later assisted on another.

Predators 7  Knights 4

Ben Margulies starts off hot right out the gate as he scored a hatty in this one. Nelson Bautista also contributed to the victory tallying 4 total points. Thomas Primrose stayed strong between the pipes as the Preds out lasted a nice performance from Jake Paul (finished with 2 goals and an assist).

Capitals 12  Avalanche 5

If you watched this one, you heard a lot of “Way to Go, Luke!” as both Luke Padula and Luke Middleburger led the way for the Caps. Each player ended up with a 4-goal evening. Although the Avs were short-handed, they had strong performances from Aidan Kregler and Jeffrey Arale as both were all over the score sheet for the Avs.

Wings 4  Stars 3

The Wings were down early and fought back in the 2nd half to earn the 'Dub". AJ Navarro scored twice, late in the game, to seal this one for the Wings. Matthew Maran started the season off hot, as he recorded a hat trick for the Stars.

Penguins 9  Sharks 2

The Pens jumped out to an early lead and that was all she wrote, truly a strong performance from the entire team as they had 6 different goal scorers. Keegan Ross led the way with a hat trick. For the Sharks, in her first roller hockey game ever, Sofia Anselmo recorded the 2 lone goals for her Sharks. We’d also like to give a special shoutout to her sister, Nicolette, as she is the only “full-time” goaltender in the Freshman Division. Way to go, Nicolette! We absolutely love it!

Yotes 12  Predators 9

After a tough week 1 loss, the Yotes bounced back nicely in this one with an impressive win over the Preds. After some time off from roller hockey, Nico Buglione returned to his old form scoring 5 goals and recording 2 assists. Dylan Cochrane was right behind him scoring 4 on the evening. Ben Margulies remains hot as he scored 2 goals on the night. Shane Russo scored 2 more giving him 3 total on the early season.

Kraken 9  Knights 2

The Kraken took advantage of a short staffed Golden Knights Team in this one. Strong performances by Brian Justiniano as he recorded 5 total points and Aiden Masten who ended with a 3 point night.

Avalanche 14 Stars 12

This is not a typo, what an absolute barn burner as goals came early and often in this one. Matthew Maran was on fire scoring 5 goals and grabbing an assist. Sammy Johnson also netted a hatty for the Stars. Unfortunately (for the Stars), the return of Jack Drew to BMRH was exactly what we had expected. Jack scored 5 goals and had 2 assists in this one. Nate Clagnaz (4 goals) and Nino Fernandez (3 goals) were just enough to edge the Avs over the Stars. These 3 are going to be a dominate force in the Sophomore Division so watch out, league!

Capitals 10  Red Wings 7

This game went back and forth all night long. Just like the Wings first game of the season, they trailed early. But a strong 2nd half performance kept it close. The Wings have already proven to be a resilient group so no lead is safe when playing this squad. Aj Navarro led the way in goals (2) for the Wings and we cant miss the strong night for Patrick Casserly as he scored and added 3 assists. Nicholas Urso started off the scoring for the Caps and added another later in the game. Shane Renyak and Miles Bachisin also recorded 2 goals each to help put the Caps on top.
