WEEK 3 RECAP
Blues 13 Hurricanes 12
This game did not disappoint as it was a back and forth battle all game long. After a tight 3-2 score at the end of the 1st period, 20 goals were scored over the course of the next 2 periods. In the loss, John Ackerman recorded 8 goals while Ryan Wurtzel scored hat-trick. In the win, Luke Van Bell scored 8 goals and Jayce Vanasco recorded a hat-trick.
Kraken 16 Golden Knights 5
Jourdan Luskoff and Jack Sarosy each had a pair of goals but this one was all Kraken as they took complete advantage of playing a short-handed team (who also didn't have their goalie). Stephen Heine led the way with 6 goals and both Brian Justiniano and Erik Lanzer recorded hatties on the evening.
Predators 9 Coyotes 4
This Yotes were down their top scorer and without him, the offense wasn't clicking as the Preds took this one over early. Ben Margulies, Nelson Bautista and Daniel Resnick all secured hat-tricks.
Ducks 5 Sharks 1
Teddy Hogan scored a pair of Goals for the Ducks along with goals by Andrew Serie, Christopher Mazzie and Daniel Godek. Sofia Anselmo remains hot as she score the lone goal for the Sharks.
Penguins 6 Blues 5
What an entertaining game this was as these two teams look to be the power houses of the Freshman Division. Jordan Lass continues to shine in the division as he recorded another hat-trick. Brayden Ianniello and Michael Shevlin also contributed to the scoring as they helped keep the Pens, undefeated on the season. The Blues suffered their first loss on the season but Jayce Vanasco remains red hot as he too, recorded a hattie.
Kraken 5 Predators 3
Finally, a Goalie Duel! Both Anthony Gomez and Thomas Primrose kept the biscuit out of the basket but costly penalties by the Preds were the downfall for them. Erik Lanzer continues the point scoring streak as he finished with 2 goals and an assist. Paul Pedota and Stephen Heine both finished with 1 and 1. Nelson Bautista scored 2, in the loss for the Preds. The Kraken remain undefeated and the team to beat but don't sleep on the Preds. Once a healthy Luke Desarno returns to the lineup, they could make a run to end the season.
Golden Knights 10 Coyotes 7
Does anyone show up anymore? Both teams had 5 to 6 players scratched from the lineup but those who did show, came to play. Dominic Casella led the way recording 8 points while Jourdan Luskoff scored 6 goals to help lead the Golden Knights to their first victory of the season. Connor Skewes (4 goals) and Kevin Canto (3 goals, 1 assist) had a big game but it wasn't enough for the Yotes in this one.
Avalanche 10 Stars 3
After receiving player of the week, we warned you about Jack Drew and that you will be seeing his name a lot this season. Well, only once this week but that's only because one game was rained out. Jack took this game over scoring 6 times! Nicholas Biagini and Nino Fernandez also made it to the score sheet. Sammy Johnson and Joe Adamo scored for the Stars.
Capitals 7 Red Wings 4
While both teams were short-handed, all players skated well and worked hard in this one. Luke Mildeberger led the way scoring 4 times, 3 in the 2nd half as the Caps came back and held off the Wings to earn the "W". Luke Padula scored twice and Shane Renyak added another for the Caps. For the Wings, Patrick Casserly continues to tally up the score sheet as he ended with 3 points. Christopher Keane and Aj Navarro also scored for the Wings.
