WEEK 3 RECAP


Bruins 9 - Hurricanes 6

The Bruins moved into a tie for 2nd place after defeating the Canes. Jase Kavanagh recorded a hat trick and added an assist, while Robert DiMonda recorded 3 points (2 goals and an assist), and Ethan Banks scored 2 goals. For the Canes, Colin Jewels scored twice and both Landon Gallagher and Logan Kute recorded a goal and an assist. 

Kings 14 - Stars 8

The Kings win their 3rd of the season as the division's leading goal scorer, Matthew Vlahakis scored 9 of his teams 14 goals. Thomas Ryan scored twice and had an assist, and Rocco Marino added two goals for the Kings as well. William Gavinovich led the Stars scoring 6 goals and adding 2 assists while Jake Guarino added 3 points (2 goals and an assist). 

Panthers 9 - Blue Jackets 1

After a thrilling OT finish in the last matchup, the Panthers took full control of a short-handed Blue Jackets squad. Anthony Catanzarita, Ben Margulies, and Jack Sarosy all recorded hat tricks! The lone goal-scorer for the Jackets was Brandon Catalina.

Flyers 9 - Lightning 3

The Lightning battled and and hung in there vs. the 1st place Flyers. This game was so close at the end of 2 periods as the Bolts led 4-3. Unfortunately they came up just shy of recording their 1st win of the season. Big game from Matteo Tseretopoulos who recorded 3 points (2 goals and an assist), Jordan Daly (1 goal and an assist) and Nikolas Kossack (1 assist) as these players kept the high scoring Flyers 1st line scoreless. The Flyers get the dub though and were led by John Montefusco who recorded 4 goals and 2 assists. 

Kings 9 - Canadiens 8

The Kings move into 1st place as they knock off the Habs and give them their first loss of the season. This was a battle of the 22's as the Kings Matthew Vlahakis (number 22) scored 6 goals and assisted on 2 others in the win. The Canadiens Alex Distefano (number 22) also scored 6 goals but came up just shy of the victory. 

Penguins 11 - Stars 3

Another dominant performance from Patrick Casserly as he recorded 6 points (5 goals and 2 assists) while teammate Nicholas Liguori scored a hat trick and assisted on 2 other goals. Adam Rosman earned his 1st victory of the season between the pipes as the Pens move to 3-1 on the season. The Stars had 3 different goal scorers on the evening: Ryan Busk, Stefano Turriciano and Samantha Buglione

Hurricanes 10 - Flyers 9 OT

The Canes make the Freshman Division race to the top interesting as they pickup the victory in overtime. The Flyers remain in 1st place as they earn 1 point, in the shootout loss. The Canes Logan Kute led the way scoring 4 goals and assisting on two others. Jackson Banke continued his hot hand as he scored twice and added his division-leading 5th assist of the season. Quinn Miller scored the shootout game-winner. The Flyers John Montefusco remains the division leader in goals and points as he finished the game with one and one. Jake Cipriano and Brady Weiner each scored two goals in the loss. 

Jets 6 -  Canadiens 2

Jayce Vanasco returned between the pipes and kept the Habs out of the goal as they lose their 2nd straight, after starting the season at 3-0. Brayden Padula and Jake Seidman led the Jets each recording 2 goals and an assist. Luke Van Bell and Edward Kraus scored the Canadiens goals. 

Bruins 5 - Lightning 2

The Lightning are almost there as they continue to battle each and every game this season, inching closer and closer to their 1st win. However, after a two goal 1st period, Aiden Dwojak shut the door and led the B's to another victory. Robert DiMonda led the way recording a hat trick and one assist. Jason Licht and Leon Guven scored for the Lightning. 

Blues 8 - Penguins 7

The Blues stormed out the gate and held off a 2nd half comeback by the Pens, to earn their 3rd win of the season. Brendan Hoefenkrieg recorded 5 goals and an assist. Gavin Kane added two goals and Michael Shevlin finished with a goal and an asssit for the Blues. 

Ducks 12 - Blue Jackets 6

This one was all Ducks as Nico Buglione capped off a 6 point evening (5 goals and an assist). Daniel Resnick and Jeffrey Arale both recorded 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists). Lots of goal scoring + Thomas Primrose keeping pucks out of the net is a nice combination for a dub. The Blue Jackets were led once again by Shane Russo as he scored 5 goals and recorded an assist to give him a division-leading 21 points. Adam Rosman scored and added 2 assists.
