WEEK 4 RECAP

Ducks 10  Blues 6

The Ducks took advantage of a short-handed Blues as they had Samantha Buglione suit up in net and were missing Peyton Paul for the remainder of the season (Get well soon, Peyton!). The Ducks jumped out to an early 5-1 lead and that was all she wrote. Both Sam Stawinski and Sean Hoefenkrieg recorded hat-tricks for the Ducks while Andrew Serie and Brendan Hoefenkrieg scored 2 a piece. Jayce Vanasco recorded himself a hat-trick and previous player of the week Luke Van Bell scored twice for the Blues.

Kraken 8  Coyotes 3

The Yotes played a great game but couldn’t last the full 2 halfs with the first place Kraken. At one point there was under 10 minutes remaining and the game was tied 3-3 but the Kraken eventually pulled away late and remain undefeated. Paul Pedota led the Kraken with a hat-trick and some key goals late in the game. Brian Justiniano and Erik Lanzer each finished with 2. Joey Parkinson, Nico Buglione and Trent Sapienza scored or the Yotes.

Golden Knights 10  Predators 4

The Golden Knights have won 2 in a row! When they are all in attendance, this team could be a threat but only time will tell as they inch closer to climbing out of the division cellar. Jake Paul led the way to victory as he recorded a 5-goal performance. Dominic Casella was not too far behind as he recorded a hatty. Neslon Bautista remains hot for the Preds recording another multi-goal game but it wasn’t enough as the Preds lose this one and also a suffering blow to their roster as Luke Desarno looks to be out for the year – Get well soon, Luke!

Hurricanes 8  Sharks 6

The Hurricanes earn their first victory of the season holding off a late comeback from the Sharks. John Ackerman continues his dominant season as he scored 5 in this one. Gavin Kane scored 2 to help secure the victory. Although the Sharks were down early, a late push kept this one interesting as the Lukas Farraher and Aidan Farraher both scored 2 goals each.

Penguins 8  Wild 1
The Pens continue to dominate the division as both Frankie Smart and Michale Schvelin recorded hatties in this one. Brayden Padula scored the lone goal for the Wild.

Coyotes 12  Predators 5

Dylan Cochrane returned to the lineup and boy did it show as he recorded 5 goals to help snap the Yotes losing streak. Kevin Canto and Liam Wilson also recorded 2 goals each. For the Preds, it was the usual as Ben Margulies and Nelson Bautista marked up the scoresheet.

Kraken 7  Golden Knights 3

The Kraken remain undefeated and clinched 1st place. Paul Pedota and Stephen Heine led the way with 2 goals apiece as Anthony Gomez continued to shut down his opponents. Jake Paul recorded 2 goals in this one for the Knights.

Stars 3  Red Wings 2

Dominick Safuto made some big time saves in this one late as he shut the door on the Wings comeback in the final 3 minutes. The Stars had played well and led 3-0 (2 goals from Joseph Adamo) but after a timeout with just under 3 minutes to play, the Wings Patrick Casserly rallied and scored 2 quick ones. It wasn’t enough as the Stars held on.

Ducks 10  Hurricanes 4

Sam Stawinski scored 4 goals while his linemate, Teddy Hogan recorded a hat-trick as the powerhouse Ducks remain right behind the undefeated Penguins in the Freshman Division Standings. Jon Ackerman recorded a hat-trick for the Canes but it wasn’t enough to keep this one close.

Capitals 4  Avalanche 3

After a Caps forfeit to the Avs the night before, 1st place was on the line. Both Shane Renyak and Miles Bachisin scored twice for the Caps to give them the edge. Jeffrey Arale led the way with the Avs as he scored twice.

Stars 5  Red Wings 4

AJ Navarro’s hat-trick wasn’t enough to overtake the Stars as Mathew Marran’s hat-trick evened things out. Late goals from Joseph Adamo and Sammy Johnson helped the Stars win their second game in a row.
