WEEK 5 RECAP
Golden Knights 8 - Devils 5
After a hard fought 1st period, the game was tied at 3. The Devils were led by Will Terjesen and the Knights by Isabella DiStephan who each scored twice for their teams. The Golden Knights pulled away in the 2nd period and this victory clinched the Freshman Division. Brendan Hoefenkrieg finished the night with 4 goals. Robert Sullivan added 2 for the Devils but they ran out of time and took the loss.
Sharks 10 - Kings 10
Big performance out of the Sharks Jake Paul as he scored 4 goals and assisted on another late in the game. Nick Zummo recorded a hat trick while Paul Pedota scored and added 3 assists. For the Kings, Shane Russo continues to be dominant game in and game out at as he recorded 5 goals and 2 assists. Erik Lanzer matched his performance totaling 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists). The shootout could not be played due to a wet playing surface so these teams will determine a winner as a shootout will be held prior to their next matchup.
Panthers 10 - Devils 9
This game was truly enjoyable to watch from start to finish. Both teams raced out of the gate totaling 9 1st period goals. It was a back and forth battle but the Panthers James Carlin secured the game-winner late in the 3rd period to lead his team to the W. Brenden Palmer had a nice 4 goal performance for the Panthers while Michael Shevlin totaled 5 points (1 goal and 4 assists). Brayden Padula led the Devils with 4 goals while Colin Jewels recorded 2.
Kings 5 - Blackhawks 4
This was an absolute chess match and came down to the final seconds as the Kings won in thrilling fashion and eliminated the Hawks chances for an undefeated season. Nolan Gormley started the game scoring it's first goal. The Hawks quickly tied and took the lead from a goal by Jack Sarosy. Both Daniel Resnick and Dylan Cimino added goals for the Kings while Stephen Heine's goal tied the game mid-way through. The Hawks Brian Justiniano (2 goals) took a penalty late in the game and it was costly as Erik Lanzer capitalized on the Power Play and crowned the Kings a victory.
Devils 10 - Stars 7
Brayden Padula remains hot as he recorded 5 goals and an assist for the Devils. Robert Sullivan (2 goals) and Colin Jewels (1 goal) added some extra insurance. The Stars Sofia Anselmo recorded a hat trick and later assisted. Nicholas Kute added 2 goals in the loss.
Sabres 15 - Flyers 14
No, this is not a typo. 29 goals scored! Earlier this season, the Sabres Brendan Russo scored 11 goals in a game. Just when you think you'd never see something like that again, it happens! John Ackermann scored 11 goals including the game winner with 1:20 to go in regulation. Nolan Russo (2) Mathew Rosman and Lucas Senicola added the others. The Flyers were led by Joseph Adamo as he recorded 7 goals giving him 30 on the season. Brayden Padula added a hat trick and Jake Guarino recorded 2 goals.
Lightning 4 - WIld 3
The undefeated season for the Wild has come to an end. The Bolts were led by Miles Bachisin who scored 2 goals on the night, including the game-winner. Patrick Casserly scored twice for the Wild in the loss. Great game with end to end action all night long.
