WEEK 6 RECAP
Golden Knights 9 - Stars 5
These teams met for the last time this regular season but it could very well be the 1st round matchup come playoffs. The Golden Knights jumped out to a commanding 4-0 lead in the 1st period and never looked back. Dominant performances by Brendan Hoefenkreig (4 goals and 1 assist) and Robert DiMonda (3 goals, 2 assists). Isabella DiStephan played great defense all game long and recorded 3 assists. She now leads the league with 8 on the season. For the Stars, their 3rd line came to play as both Nicholas Kute and Luke Giangrande recorded 2 goals a piece.
Kings 10 - Sharks 4
After Hunter Paul locked up the shootout, the Sharks earned their 1st win of the season over the Kings. Unfortunately, there was no winning streak as the Kings easily took this one and keep their #1 seed hopes alive with 4 games remaining, 2 of them vs. the 1st place Blackhawks. Nico Buglione finally had his breakout game scoring 5 goals while Shane Russo improved his team lead to 21 total points, recording 2 goals and 2 assists. Shane is currently leading the league in points per game and climbing in the division rankings. Erik Lanzer followed up his POW with a 4 point performance (1 goal and 3 assists). For the Sharks, they had 4 different goals scorers: Jake Paul, Ben Margulies, JohnImperiale and Nick Zummo.
Panthers 5 - Stars 3
This makeup game turned out to have BIG playoff implications as the loser would play the #1 seed in the first round of the playoffs. We were all tied up heading into the final period but the Panthers pulled away scoring 3 goals. The Panthers had 5 different goal scorers but were led by Nikolas Kossack who recorded 2 points. James Esposito led the Stars with 2 goals.
Lightning 5 - WIld 4
For the 2nd straight game, the Bolts have defeated the 1st place Wild and have tightened up this division race. Miles Bachisin scored 4 times while Peyton Paul added another. Rocco Avena totaled 2 assists on the evening. William Gavinovich tallied 2 goals in the loss for the Wild.
Golden Knights 4 - Panthers 0
Jayce Vanasco had a spectacular evening making 27 saves and earning the shutout. Enver Ospedales led the Golden Knights with 2 goals and an assist. Brendan Hoefenkreig and Lucas Dipasquale also scored.
Kings 7 - Blackhawks 5
After suffering a shootout loss, the Kings have rebounded nicely and have won 3 of their last 4 games to pull closer to the race for the #1 seed. Nico Buglione led the way recording a hat trick and an assist while teammate Shane Russo recorded 4 total points. Shane has an impressive 10 assists on the season which leads the division. Stephen Heine had 2 big asssits in this one while Erik Lanzer's goal late helped the Kings inch closer to 1st place. The Hawks had 5 different goal scorers that included Liam Wilson, Jeffrey Arale and Brandon Bucci.
WIld 7 - Sabres 1
This one was all Wild as they took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period and turned it into a Sophomore Division clinching berth for the #1 seed. Christopher Keane scored and recorded 3 assists while Patrick Casserly (2), Nick Urso, Stefano Turriciano and Spencer Posner added to the score. Nolan Russo was the lone goal-scorer for the Sabres.
Lightning 9 - Flyers 2
Joseph Adamo added to his league lead recording 2 goals while Amyrah Jaffer had an assist. For the Bolts, Miles Bachisin recorded 7 goals and Henry Terjesen added the 2 others. Christopher Taylor recorded 2 assists. Solid performance for the Bolts as they clinch the #2 seed in the division.
