WEEK 7 RECAP
Senators 10 - Kraken 6
The Senators took care of a short-handed Kraken and slide into 1st place. Christopher Mazzie recorded 4 goals to lead the Sens while Robert Dowd recorded 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) and Gianluca Milack held down the fort in between the pipes. For the Kraken, Logan Maslauskas scored 4 goals.
Capitals 7 - Flames 3
The Caps bounce back from their recent loss and earn the victory. Isla Luskoff scored 4 goals and added an assist while John Montefusco and Ashlyn Hite also scored. The Flames scoring drought continues but they continue to play hard week to week. Billy Stone and Thomas Carroll both scored.
Ducks 6 - Sharks 5 OT
The Sharks were short their two leading scorers and it took overtime to finally defeat them. John Ackermann scored his 5th goal of the game to record the overtime winner for the Ducks. For the Sharks, Nicholas Urso recorded 2 goals and Matthew Laico added another.
Junior Division Semifinal
Penguins 5 - Avalanche 3
The Avs gave it their all against the 1st seed Pens but came up short. Nico Buglione recorded a hat trick. Thomas Primrose had a great game between the pipes in the loss. For the Pens, James Pelini was on fire scoring 1 goal and setting up 4 others while Aiden Masten added 2 goals in the victory.
Predators 9 - Golden Knights 7
Jordan Lass scored 5 times and Nicholas Kute added a hat trick to get the Preds their 4th win of the season. The Golden Knights had strong performances from Jaxen Dwojak (2 goals), Robert DiMonda (2 goals) and Jayce Vanasco (2 goals, 1 Assist).
Oilers 13 - Bruins 1
Jackson Dispasquale, Stefano Turriciano and Miles Bachisin led the way for the Oilers as they each ended the evening with 5 points (recording 2 goals and 3 assists, each!). Brayden Padula had the lone goal for the B’s.
Junior Division Semifinal
Maples Leafs 6 - Wild 1
The game was a chess match going into the half with a score of 2-1 but the Leafs pulled away to earn a shot at the Spring title. Nicholas “Big Game” Zummo continues his dominance during the post-season at BMRH (18 points in 5 games during our stat era) as he recorded a hat trick. League M.V.P. Donovan Butler recorded 3 points (2 goals and an assist) and Landon Butler added 3 assists for the Leafs. Anthony Gomez stopped shot after shot and as the Leafs built the lead, it was tougher for the Wild to put one past Ant. Dylan Ruzz scored the lone goal for the Wild in the loss.
Bruins 15 - Ducks 14
The B’s earn their 1st victory of the season and it took 15 goals to do so. What a shootout this was as Brendan Russo scored 9 goals and added 3 assists in the win. Vincent Lane added 2 goals and a few assists as well. The Ducks Alex Distefano also scored 9 goals in this one while John Ackermann recorded a hat trick and had 4 assists in the loss.
Kraken 5 - Flames 1
Daniel Godek held down the fort and made save after save while Christopher Buckheit and Ryan Busk recorded 2 points each (1 goal and 1 assist). Jack Menelly recorded the Flames lone goal.
Coyotes 7 - Oilers 6
Antonio Fernandez recorded a hatty while Shane Renyak added two goals in his return to the lineup for the Yotes. William Gavinovich recorded 3 goals and an assist in the loss. The Yotes now match the Sharks points total with 1 game in-hand for the Division lead. With the loss, the Oilers have now moved into the Quaterfinals.
Sharks 13 - Panthers 6
Matthew Maran had a strong performance for the Panthers scoring 4 times but that wasn’t nearly enough to stick with the 1st place Sharks. Last Fall’s M.V.P. Joseph Adamo scored 8 times while the rest of the goals were scored from five different players: Lucas Senicola, Justin Primrose, Nicholas Biagini, Charles McMahon and Rocco Marino.
