WEEK 9 RECAP

Quaterfinals

Wild 10 - Coyotes 3

The Wild showed why they were the number 3 seeded team in the Playoffs and ran away with this one. After 1st period lead of 2-0, they recorded 5 goals in the 2nd period which help sealed the victory. Jordan Daley, and Logan Kute, both scored twice and had an assist while Aiden Dwojak kept pucks out of his net. The Coyotes season is over but the team improved each week and that’s all you can ask for. Lucas Folchetti-Puglin finished with 2 assists while Brandon Lane scored twice.

Avalanche 6 - Predators 4

Sean Hoefenkrieg faced 31 shots in net for the Preds and kept them in this game. Dominick O’Malley recorded a hat trick while Jake Guarino finished with two assists, in the loss. The Avs were led by Jake Seidman who recorded a hat trick and three assists. The Avs finish as the #4 seed while the Preds will enter the play in game and take on the Caps.

Semifinals

Canucks 4 - Sabres 3

This was one of the most entertaining games of the season and a special shoutout to the short-handed Sabres who played their hearts out in the loss. Kyle Wilcha scored and had two assists to lead the way while Erik Lanzer and Anthony Menechino scored as well. Both Thomas Primrose and Anthony Gomez played spectacular between the pipes. For the Canucks, both Colin Hite, and Jack Lagalia recorded 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). The Canucks move on the finals.

Devils 13 - Panthers 8

The Panthers and Devils were all tied up at 4 a piece to end the 1st Period. But the Devils broke out their scoring magic recorded 9 goals over the course of the next.2 periods. Christopher Mazzie led the 1st line recording 5 points (2 goals and 3 assists) followed by Brady Weiner’s 2 goals and an assist. The Devils had 5 players who recorded two points (Joseph Kraus, Connor Miller, Jack Menelly, Colin Jewels, and Quinn Miller) which exemplified an all-around team effort. For the Panthers, Lucia Montefusco came to play as she recorded a hat trick and 2 assists. William Brucia also scored twice in the loss. The Devils now move on to play the #1 Seed Kings.

Predators 6 - Capitals 5

WHAT A GAME! The Preds jumped out to an early 5-1 lead but the Caps inched closer and closer, only to come up short in this one. Sean Hoefenkrieg made some BIG time saves to keep it a 1-goal game late. The Caps had made a goalie replacement at the half and Nicholas Macko stopped almost everything letting in only one goal the entire 2nd half. Jake Guarino recorded a hat trick for the Preds while Dominick O’Malley finished with 2 goals and an assist. The Caps season comes to an end while the Preds move on to play the Sens later this week.

Avalanche 8 - Kraken 5

Frank Brown (3 goals, 2 assists), and William Gavinovich (3 goals, 1 assist) combined for 9 points in the Avs win over the Kraken. John Ackermann recorded 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists), and Logan Maslauskas recorded a hat trick in the loss. 

Championship Game 1

Canucks 13 - Golden Knights 7

The Canucks jumped on the Golden Knights early and never looked back as they took Game 1 of the Championship Series. Henry Soderland recorded 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist), and Jack Sarosy added 4 goals of his own for the Canucks. Anthony Gomez stood tall in the late stages of this game and took the momentum away save after save. Division M.V.P. Nico Buglione didn't disappoint as he scored 4 of the Knights goals. 

Semifinals

Wild 11 - Oilers 1

The 2nd line of the Wild dominated and wrote the story in this one as they scored 7 goals. Jaxen Dwojak (4 goals), Ivy Vanasco (1 goal), Leon Guven (2 goals) all led the Wild to victory. A shocking loss for the #2 seed Oilers as Isla Luskoff scored their lone goal.

Senators 10 - Predators 5

AJ Navarro's 8 point night (4 goals, 4 assists) led the Sens to victory over a Preds squad who have played their best hockey the last 3-4 games. Aidan Kavanagh and Brayden Padula both scored twice and added the extra offensive fire power in the win. Brendan Hoefenkrieg led the Preds with a hat trick and an assist while Jake Guarino and Brian Barrera each ended with 2 points. The Sens move on to the Semis. 

Semifinals

Devils 9 - Kings 4

Christopher Mazzie (2 goals, 1 assist), Quinn Miller (2 goals, 1 assist), and Colin Jewels (3 goals), each recorded 3 points, as the Devils outscored the Kings 9-2 in the last two periods of the game.Ethan Banks stood tall between the pipes and shutdown the Kings league leading offense. Richard Postiglione recorded two of their goals as the #1 seed's season comes to an end. 

Semifinals

Ducks 11 - Avalanche 10

Matthew Vlahakis recorded 6 goals for the Ducks while Cameron Gregg added a hat trick to the teams 11-goal performance. William Gavinovich leds the Avs with 4 goals and 4 assists. The Ducks head to the Championship and currently await their opponent.
